Yes, Single Lock was created and is run by musicians— but we also have experience behind the register at independent record shops. The indie shop is a place where people make connections, discover art they love and fit in instead of stick out. For generations of music lovers, the indie shop is the clubhouse. We believe that now, more than ever, it’s important to lift these spaces up and promote them. The internet has certainly made it easier to access music, but has the convenience come at the cost of personality? Who’s recommending this music to you? Where’s the heart and soul in that transaction?
